Gilbert & Sullivan's "H.M.S. Pinafore"
Gilbert and Sullivan developed another exceptional comical operetta with H.M.S. Pinafore. On the quarter-deck of Her Majesty's Ship Pinafore, crewman Ralph Rackstraw suffers from depression for he loves the captain's daughter though remains well below her rank. Meanwhile, Captain Corcoroan of Her Majesty's Ship Pinafore is about to introduce his daughter Josephine to Rt. Hon. Sir Joseph Porter, K.C.B. First Lord of the Admiralty. Josephine and Sir Joseph are to be engaged, but Josephine reveals to her father that she admires a crew member. She decides to keep the crewman's name silent for risk of ruining her meeting with Sir Joseph. The chorus of crewman and Sir Joseph's "sisters, cousins and aunt" weave an intricate plot that only thickens.
All concerts are at the Fuhrmann Auditorium, Greater Covington Center, 317 N. Jefferson Avenue, Covington, LA
